Fun with Felt! No Sew felt bow tutorial

These little felt bows are becoming really popular! They are a cinch to make, and cost next to nothing. They make perfect gifts too!

Here is all you need to do:

Supplies:
Felt
Scissors or rotary cutter
Glue gun
ruler or measuring tape
alligator clip or snap clip (optional)

I am including measurements for three different sizes: Itty bitty bows, small bows and medium bows. I am going to give instructions for the medium bow -but lil ellebee is wearing the itty bitty bow.

Here are the measurements for the three different sizes:
Itty Bitty:
Bow Strip: 1/2"x3"
Tail Strip: 1/2"x1 3/4"
Center Strip: 1 1/2"x 1/4"
Small:
Bow Strip: 1"x 4"
Tail Strip: 1"x 2 1/2"
Center Strip: 2"x 1/2"
Medium:
Bow Strip: 2"x 7"
Tail Strip: 2"x 4 1/2"
Center Strip: 3/4"x 3"

Step 1:

Cut 3 strips of felt in the following sizes:

7"x2"
4 1/2"x 2"
3"x3/4"

Step 2:

Fold the medium piece of fabric in half and cut at an angle to make the fancy ends on your bow tails.
Step 3:

Find the approximate middle point on your largest strip of fabric and fold one end towards the center.

Run a thin stripe of glue along the edge with your glue gun. You don't want too much, or it will be too bulky.
 Glue the ends together.
You should now have a tube of felt like this.
Step 4:
Run another stripe of glue along the seam.
Glue the medium sized strip onto the fabric tube and flip over.
Now it starts to take shape!
Step 5:
Pinch your bow so that the edges point down and there is a crease in the middle.
Put a little bit of glue inside the crease to help the bow hold it's shape.
Flip the bow over and put a little bit of glue between each of the layers in the center to help hold the shape.
Step 6:
Flip your bow over and put a dab of glue in the center.
Center the smallest strip of felt and secure with the glue.
Flip your bow over.
*** This is the point to attach your bow to a clip or a headband. If you are making the itty bitty band, you will want to omit the clip and stick it to infant's head with a little bit of Karo Syrup.
Step 7:
Put a bead of glue on your clip and attach it to the underside of the bow.
Apply glue to one of the sides of the small strip and wrap it towards the clip.
Open the clip and glue the end inside the opening. This will help secure the clip to the bow.

 Repeat with the other side.
Trim any excess.
That's all there is to it!!!

Happy crafting!
ElleBee
